1. How do you
verify credit card data in such a short amount of time?
The major credit card companies have developed
high speed authorization gateways to support both retail merchants
and online retailers. We are using the internet to access these
authorization gateways and give three to five second responses to
our credit card queries.
2. Do I have to
have internet access at the site?
Yes. WashVerify
requires a “live” internet connection in order to verify card data.
In most instances, your local phone service company will be able to
provide an ADSL connection for under $50/month. In the instances
where ADSL is not available, IDSL, ISDN, Fixed Wireless, Satellite,
or Cable are other acceptable options.
3. Can I use a
dial-up internet connection?
When you consider the cost of a dedicated phone
line and dial-up internet service provider, there isn’t much cost
savings in using a dial-up account. It is better to use a broadband
connection that is designed to be “always-on” even if it costs more
than dial-up. However, for those rare locations where a broadband
internet connection isn’t available,
WashVerify can operate over a dial-up internet connection. We
have special “watch-dog” software that will monitor the dial-up
account and re-connect if it is dropped. In order to use
WashVerify with a dial-up account, a
special waiver will need to be signed by the car wash owner.
4. Can I use my own computer I already have at the car wash?
Each WashVerify credit card server is an industrial grade computer that has wide temperature tolerances and has undergone extensive testing to ensure that there will be no compatibility issues.
5. Can I use the
WashVerify computer to run other software I use at the car
wash?
Think of WashVerify
as an automated, stand alone card processing system. Don’t
jeopardize your ability to generate increased sales by installing
third party software onto the WashVerify
System.
6. I see
professional installation is available within 200 miles of Denver.
What if I live outside this radius?
WashVerify was
designed from the ground up to be easy to install. To install it in
car wash bays, you will need to pull shielded, category-5 cable from
each car wash bay to a central location inside your equipment room.
Terminate the CAT5 cable with standard RJ-45 connections on each
end, and you are nearly done with the install! Mount the card reader
on (or next) to your existing coin box, plug the card reader into
the CAT5 cable, connect the coin pulse wires to your existing coin
acceptors, and you’re done in the bay. Plug the other end of the
CAT5 cables into the bay interface box, and your installation is now
complete. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this kind of work,
contact a local electrician or computer network company, and they
should be able to run and terminate the wires for a very reasonable
fee.
7. What if I
don’t have room on my existing coin boxes for the card reader?
No problem. You can mount the card reader next
to the coin box using a special stainless steel mounting plate.
8. Why is
WashServer $5,000 extra?
We wanted to provide our customers with only the
equipment and software they need and will use. If you are only
interested in accepting credit cards, and don’t have time to use the
marketing potential of WashServer,
then just purchase WashVerify.
However, if your car wash is subject to new competition or if you
want to increase your customer base, then
WashServer is a great tool to market your wash to new
customers.
9. Are there
any fees associated with using WashServer?
After your first year of service, there will be
a $25 monthly maintenance fee. This fee covers daily site back-ups,
server maintenance, and server traffic. If you have over 1,000
active cards, this fee may increase.
10. I don’t
understand the value of WashServer.
Please explain.
How do you market your car wash now? Do you give
free tokens? Do you give flyers out telling your customers to redeem
the flyer during a fixed time that you or an attendant will be
on-site? Do you do any marketing at all?
WashServer
allows you to give free or discounted washes away very economically.
You can generate one time use bar code labels that you can affix to
business cards, plastic cards, postcards, or door hangers to market
your car wash.
Additionally, you can sell Prepaid car wash
“credit-cards” that are preloaded with any dollar amount you want.
Sell a prepaid car wash card, and that customer will be locked into
your wash!
You can also define a
WashServer code as a “Wash-a-week™” card. You can preset any
value, and every Monday that card will reset back to that initial
value through the expiration date. (For example, sell a $5
Wash-a-week™ card for the year 2005. This card has a retail value of
$260 [52 weeks * $5]. Discount that card down to $200, and you’ve
locked in that customer to your wash for a year. You receive the
money upfront, and each week the value of that card decreases
whether or not the customer uses your services!
